Our job is to unite the Bolton community while providing support and opportunities.
We work with 28 established mosques in Bolton. That’s approximately 30,000 Muslims.
At the Bolton Council of Mosques we value and promote participation.
We can offer crucial links with other organisations in the wider Bolton community.
Community Development
Anyone can learn the skills and knowledge needed for positive social development.
We are here to empower individuals and groups to effect change in their own communities.
We believe in a process of building active and sustainable communities based on social justice and mutual respect.
Our Community Development Officers support community and voluntary groups in Bolton.
We will try to help with anything — just ask.
From setting up management committees, to writing business plans, strategies for funding, training opportunities and bid writing and more.
We can provide advice and support to new or existing groups.

Interfaith Work
Dialogue between different religious communities is more important today than ever before.
We at the Bolton Council of Mosques are a key part of the Bolton Interfaith Council.
We attend regular Interfaith Council meetings with the Christian Churches and Hindu Forum.
It is our duty as members of the wider Bolton community to show support for other religious festivals — just as we expect others to support ours.
We work with other religious groups to ensure the wider community is engaged and involved.
Regular activities include inviting school groups, Local Authority staff and business to visit our Mosques.
We are proud to be part of Bolton Wanderers Football Club’s ‘Unity in Diversity’ cohesion project.
We provide training and programmes promoting interfaith and community cohesion.
Relief Work
Charity is a key tenet of the Muslim faith.
For many years the Bolton Council of Mosques has supported the distribution of funds raised through the Mosques in Bolton.
These have been donated to emergency relief services assisting people affected by conflict or disaster around the world.
The funds raised have helped those in need with economic development, agriculture, health, housing and infrastructure.
Our work reveals the commitment of Bolton’s Muslims to supporting the needy and vulnerable across the world.
You’ve generously given Eid gifts for children in hospital, raised funds for Burmese cyclone victims, donated in the aftermath of The Boxing Day Tsunami, towards the Bangladesh appeal and recently to the Covid 19 pandemic Iftar releif packs.
